Properties of sound
The duration of one cycle is the reciprocal of frequency. Halving the period fits twice as many cycles into the same time.
Example
10 ms → 100 Hz / 5 ms → 200 Hz
Period10 ms → 100 Hz / 5 ms → 200 Hz
