A short note can end before a slow attack reaches full level. Compare short and held notes.
Attack-time controller uses CC73. Write the example values 32 → 96 on the controller lane of the target channel.
The controller is sent on a channel. Hearing a change requires the receiver to implement that CC function. Check its MIDI implementation chart.
