Latch notes already held when the pedal goes down, then play shorter notes above them.
Sostenuto pedal uses CC66. Write the example values 0 → 127 → 0 on the controller lane of the target channel.
The controller is sent on a channel. Hearing a change requires the receiver to implement that CC function. Check its MIDI implementation chart.
