Structure of makam
A pitch collection is a starting point for studying makam, not a complete description. Melodic course, cadential relationships and the weight of particular pitches also matter.
Ask where a phrase begins, develops and settles. This is a conceptual introduction, not a complete makam prescription. An equal-tempered keyboard display cannot represent every performance nuance.
