Musician CV examples: three starting points

MusicianCV editorial draft · Updated 24 October 2026. Examples are illustrative; this guide does not independently verify qualifications or music rights.

Personalise the examples

These are illustrative structures, not claims about a real person. Replace bracketed fields with information you can support. Neither length nor order is a universal application rule. Do not invent information to fill a section; omit it or use a more relevant section.

Stage keyboardist example

[Name / artist name] — Keyboardist. Focus: [live group / accompaniment / repertoire]. Selected experience: [period], [project], keyboard performance and rehearsal preparation. Contribution: [parts / sound selection / stage tasks]. Listening example: [work title and source link]. Technical needs: equipment you actually use and a stage setup you can provide. Do not add arrangement or mixing credits to a project where you did not perform those roles.

Composer or arranger example

[Name] — [Composer / arranger]. Selected project: [work or project]. Role: [composition / orchestration / arrangement]. Context: [independent release / stage / visual project]. Listening note: [which passage demonstrates the relevant skill]. Collaborators: accurately named contributions that can be shared. Explain access and sharing conditions before adding an unreleased file to a general portfolio.

Early-career musician example

[Name] — [instrument / specialty]. Focus: [technical or musical area]. Selected work: [your own work, a school project or a clearly identified demo]. Learning: [completed or ongoing education, with its status]. Progress example: [preparation and result links]. Do not describe a personal exercise as professional stage employment. A clearly explained small project is more useful than vague large claims.

Final read-through
