The sounding C−1 in this example maps to MIDI 0. In 12-tone equal temperament at A4 = 440 Hz, its frequency is about 8.18 Hz.
These examples use sounding pitch with middle C = C4 = MIDI 60. One octave spans 12 note numbers. String examples assume standard tuning.
