Makam studies
Rast names both a pitch and a makam. In the introductory Arel–Ezgi account, Rast makam arrives on rast, has nevâ as güçlü and is associated with ascending seyir. These facts orient study without describing every melodic detail.
Calling it simply G major loses intonational and melodic distinctions. First separate references to the pitch from references to the makam. Then observe returns toward the final and repose in the güçlü region. This is an introductory reading; idiomatic performance requires intonation, style and repertoire study.
