FE is a single byte. This connection-monitoring message is neither a note nor a clock pulse.
Active sensing · FE → Active Sensing
Bytes in the example are hexadecimal. In channel messages the first byte identifies the type and channel. Subsequent data bytes carry parameters. System messages use other layouts.
